Hoewel het gebied veel minder gekend is dan de Pyrenee\u00ebn of de Picos de Europa, komen wandelaars hier perfect aan hun trekken. Bergtochten tot 2500 m hoogte, prachtige landschappen, uitbundige fauna en flora, pittoreske dorpen en vooral veel rust. Lente en herfst zijn de ideale periodes om er te vertoeven en het stadje Arenas de San Pedro (provincie Avila) is een fijne uitvalsbasis om op verkenning te gaan.
