Augustus is traditioneel de maand dat de verwoesting van de beide steden wordt herdacht. De atoombommen werden gedropt op 6 en 9 augustus 1945.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"nl-BE\">Een vredespaal is een internationaal symbool, een monument voor de vrede. Vredespalen zijn aanwezig over de hele wereld. Op elke zijde bevindt zich een vredesboodschap. Ze wordt verspreidt in honderden talen. In respectievelijk Nederlands, Engels, Frans en Spaans is de tekst als volgt:<\/p>\n<p lang=\"nl-BE\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Moge vrede heersen op aarde<br \/>\nMay peace prevail on earth<br \/>\nPuisse la paix r\u00e9gner dans le monde<br \/>\nQue la paz prevalezca en la tierra<\/p>\n<p lang=\"nl-BE\">De Vredespalen die we installeerden in de tuin van &#8216;Atelier Flamand Rose&#8217; hebben geen tekst maar des te meer kleur&#8230; Toen we de palen plaatsten en we zo ons eigen vredesparkje stichten, kwam Math\u00e9o, de buurjongen, even piepen. \u00c7a sert \u00e0 quoi? Vroeg hij ons. \u00c7a sert \u00e0 d\u00e9corer, zeiden we hem, regarde le soleil fait r\u00e9fleter les couleurs !
